Take good care

As a new mom, I know all too well what it feels like to pour from an empty cup. There is seemingly always more to do, and it's easy to put yourself at the bottom of the list. A simple ritual—whether it's taking a shower, enjoying a relaxing bath, or treating yourself to a full-body sugar scrub—can be a gentle reminder to slow down and care for yourself. A Note on Roses

This morning I went for a walk at the Arboretum. They have a small collection of roses there and I meandered through them. There is one bush of pink roses that is in bloom right now and all of the bees were boisterously bobbing from one bloom to the next seeking their beloved pollen.  It reminded me of my visit to Butchart Gardens in Victoria, BC this past June. If you have the opportunity to visit at that time of year, you'll find the rose garden in full bloom. And it is magnificent. The sheer abundance of types is awe-inspiring. They are all so well loved and cared for. It is truly a special experience to walk through and discover...
